Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the permissible and prohibited uses of the OO1Market platform, including our multi-vendor marketplace, managed escrow system, social commerce features, and the Gift Coin wallet. By registering an account, utilizing our API, or conducting transactions on OO1Market, you agree to comply with this AUP.

This policy is designed to protect our buyers, sellers, and financial partners (including Paystack and Stripe) from fraud, illegal activities, and reputational risk.

1 Prohibited Businesses, Products, and Services

Sellers and Service Providers may not use OO1Market to list, sell, or facilitate the exchange of the following prohibited items and services. This list strictly adheres to the regulations of our payment processors and the Federal Republic of Nigeria:

A. Illegal & Dangerous Goods

  • Drugs & Paraphernalia: Illegal narcotics, unprescribed controlled substances, steroids, or any products presenting a severe risk to consumer safety.
  • Weapons: Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, destructive devices, and burglary tools.
  • Biological Matter: Blood, bodily fluids, or body parts.
  • Hazardous Materials: Unregulated toxic chemicals.
  • Stolen Property: Any physical or digital items obtained illegally.

B. Financial & Deceptive Services

  • Unlicensed Financial Services: Currency exchange without a BDC license, cryptocurrency operations, money remittance, or debt refinancing.
  • "Get Rich Quick" Schemes: Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, matrix programs, or predatory multi-level marketing (MLM) structures.
  • Gambling: Lottery tickets, sweepstakes, casino games, sports betting, or any venture facilitating gambling without a valid national license.
  • Counterfeit & IP Infringement: Fake/replica designer goods, unauthorized digital copies of software/media, or any items that violate third-party copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.

C. Regulated & Sensitive Materials

  • Government & Financial Data: Sales of identity documents, government-issued IDs, personal financial records, or mailing lists containing personal data.
  • Adult Content: Obscene materials, pornography, or sexually oriented services (including escort services).
  • Uniforms: Production or sale of military and paramilitary wear, including Police, Customs, Immigration, and Prison Services accoutrement.

2 Prohibited Platform Activities

Because OO1Market utilizes a zero-trust managed Escrow system, attempting to bypass or manipulate the financial engine is strictly forbidden. You agree not to engage in:

  • Escrow Circumvention: Attempting to take marketplace transactions off-platform or asking buyers to transfer funds directly to external bank accounts instead of utilizing the OO1Market Escrow checkout.
  • Gift Coin Monetization Abuse: Attempting to exploit, launder, or withdraw promotional "Gift Coins" to external fiat bank accounts. Gift Coins operate in a closed-loop system for platform visibility/ads and hold no external cash value.
  • Milestone & Delivery Fraud: Submitting false delivery proofs (e.g., uploading empty .zip files for digital services or submitting fraudulent courier tracking numbers for physical goods) to trigger the 72-hour auto-release timer.
  • API & System Abuse: Using automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to manipulate the "People Nearby" algorithm, artificially inflate "View Status" counts, or overwhelm the database via chat injection.

3 Social Commerce & Content Standards

OO1Market integrates social discovery tools. When using features like Status Updates, Localised Search, and Universal Chat, users must not upload or transmit content that:

  • Promotes hate speech, violence, racial intolerance, or terrorism.
  • Harasses, stalks, extorts, or threatens other buyers, sellers, or OO1Market staff.
  • Contains malware, trojan horses, or attempts to execute DOM-based XSS attacks via chat/review injections.
  • Exposes the personal, private information (doxxing) of third parties.

4 Investigations & Enforcement

To maintain a safe zero-trust environment, OO1Market employs active transaction monitoring and automated interventions.

  • State Freezing: If a transaction is flagged for fraud or a dispute is formally submitted, OO1Market will instantly execute a "State Freeze" on the order. This halts the Escrow payout timer indefinitely until arbitration is concluded.
  • Account Suspension: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates this AUP.
  • Funds Forfeiture & Reversal: If a seller is found guilty of fraud, selling prohibited items, or violating AML compliance, OO1Market and our payment partners reserve the right to unilaterally refund the buyer from the seller’s Escrow subaccount and freeze any remaining illicit funds.
  • Law Enforcement: Severe violations will be immediately reported to the appropriate Nigerian law enforcement agencies and our payment gateway partners.
